you're my Clausius Clapeyron

the media reports another extreme storm
excessive rainfall soaks the soil
leaving a devastating trail of mud-coloured flood waters

and yet, I think of your capacity to hold moisture
the pointer followed the slope
+7percent per degree messaged to my frontal lobe

as our Earth gets heated and your total moisture content increased
the downpour exceeded all previous records
supercharged 2CC, nothing like before

Notes

Rainfall extremes are expected to increase due to global warming as the moisture-holding capacity of our atmosphere increases with every degree in temperature rise. This poem explores this Clausius-Clapeyron relation.
