winds have changed

drums still vibrate
our chants travel in the warm air
the words and rhythms close at heart

but the winds have changed
the songs of birds arrive too early
every spring we ask them: will you still carry our dreams?

drums vibrate, chants travel
our rituals feel out of place

these winds have changed
